Hammock

The Mayan people considered the hammock to be a gift from the gods. Mayan hammocks are sometimes called hamacas, hamock, a mexican hammock or even a hamac.
We were in Tulum in the Yucatan Peninsula exploring the ruins. On the way back to the car we stopped to look at a beautiful handmade Mayan matrimonial hammock. I said to the old Mayan woman who was selling the hammock and to my companion "I do not have a house or trees to hang a hammock..." we walked away. All of a sudden, my right sandal snapped just as we heard a cry from an old Mayan woman offering to sell the hammock for half the price...I thought "she is giving it away" "this is a sign...get the hammock now...you can build the house and you can plant the trees...and you can always get a new pair of sandals...and the story will continue"...
